Texas High School Basketball - Saltillo crushes Avinger
February 6, 2024: Avinger, TX 75630 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Saltillo Lions (Saltillo, TX) and the host Avinger Indians (Avinger, TX), saw Saltillo's basketball squad wallop Avinger by a tally of 60-24.
With the victory, Saltillo improves its record to 19-15 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Union Hill (Gilmer, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 1A Region III District 24 challenge on Friday, February 9. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 8-12. Union Hill lost 66-43 in their recent league challenge against Sulphur Bluff (Sulphur Bluff, TX)
Next up, the Indians play the Bloomburg Wildcats (Bloomburg, TX) in a 1A Region III District 24 challenge, on Friday, February 9. Avinger will attempt to improve on its 2-20 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 1-20 record after their 66-15 league loss to Avery (Avery, TX).
