North Carolina High School Basketball - Monroe edges Weddington

The Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC) basketball nipped the host Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC), 49-47 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Redhawks (15-6) will now prepare for their test against Forest Hills (Marshville, NC). The Yellow Jackets go into the 2A/3A Conference 44 test with a 8-15 record. In their last test, Forest Hills got by Anson (Wadesboro, NC), 58-39, in a league test.

The Warriors now own a 5-15 record. They play next when they travel to Marvin Ridge for a 4A Conference 58 test on Friday, February 10. Weddington will encounter a Mavericks squad coming off a 78-23 league win over Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Mavericks record now stands at 19-4.
