North Carolina High School Basketball - Weddington winner over Piedmont

In Friday's league outing, the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) basketball squad felled the host Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC), by a margin of 46-27.

The Warriors (5-12) will now prepare for their outing against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC). The Pirates go into the 4A Conference 58 outing with a 12-9 record. In their last outing, Porter Ridge thwarted Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC), 45-42, in a league outing.

The Panthers now own a 6-14 record. They play next when they travel to Sun Valley for a 4A Conference 58 outing on Tuesday, January 31. Piedmont will clash with a Spartans squad coming off a 44-37 league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 10-11.
