The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the St. Mary's Cardinals (O'Neill, NE) and the visiting Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack (Elgin, NE), observed St. Mary's's basketball team edge Elgin/Pope John by a margin of 69-63.

The Cardinals (16-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Boyd County (Spencer, NE). The Spartans come into the non-league challenge with a 10-8 record. In their last challenge, Boyd County edged Santee (Santee, NE), 52-50, in a non-league challenge.
