Union Catholic Vikings (Scotch Plains, NJ) fans left the game pleased Thursday as they observed their baseball squad achieve victory over the visiting New Providence Pioneers (New Providence, NJ), 8-2 in a non-league match.

With the triumph, Union Catholic advances its record to 9-4 on the season. The Vikings travel to Bayonne (Bayonne, NJ) to battle the Bees in a non-league match on Friday, May 2. The Bees come into the match with a record of 5-5. Bayonne lost 7-4 in their recent league match against Union City (Union City, NJ)

The Pioneers now have a 2-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Scotch Plains-Fanwood for a UCC - Watchung match on Saturday, May 3. New Providence will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 5-5 league Cranford (Cranford, NJ). The Raiders record now stands at 8-6.
