Match Summary
The Clippers of Grafton High School swept the Lady Trojans 25-14, 25-12, 25-19, breaking New Kent's streak of 8 wins to start the season. Grafton's tough serving and big block hurt NK on both ends of their attack, with the serving taking them out of system and the blocking making it hard to convert difficult attacks. For the first time this season, the Lady Trojans hit negative with only 14 kills to 20 errors on 77 attempts. Meanwhile, Grafton tallied 33 kills with only 12 errors. Nine of NK's 14 kills came in the third set, with five coming from Leah Rounds, who moved back to the middle hitter position for that set after playing outside all season. The Lady Trojans, now 8-1, travel to Jamestown tomorrow to play the Eagles, who are 6-2 on the season.
