North Carolina High School Basketball - Piedmont crushes Central Academy

February 6, 2024: Monroe, NC 28112

Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Central Academy Cougars (Monroe, NC), 53-27 in a league bout.

With the win, Piedmont upgrades its record to 12-8 on the season. The Panthers host Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC) to clash with the Tigers in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 7. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 10-10. Mount Pleasant lost 74-21 in their recent league bout against Albemarle (Albemarle, NC)

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets (Marshville, NC) in a 2A/3A Rocky River bout, on Friday, February 9. Central Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 0-18 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a 8-10 record after their 71-55 league loss to West Stanly (Oakboro, NC).
