The George Wythe Maroons basketball team scored 70 points and restricted the host Auburn Eagles to 58 in the Maroons league victory on Saturday.

The Maroons now sport a 21-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Grayson County for a non-league contest on Wednesday, February 15. George Wythe will battle a Blue Devils team coming off a 51-35 non-league win over Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA). The Blue Devils record now stands at 7-13.

The Eagles (17-7) will now prepare for their contest against Giles (Pearisburg, VA). The Spartans come into the Mountain Empire contest with a 6-15 record. In their last contest, Giles was defeated by Grayson County (Independence, VA), 62-48, in a league contest.
