With 2019 closing out the 2010 decade, MaxPreps is looking back at the 20 most dominant teams in each state over the past 10 years.

The main factor in determining the Most Dominant lists was state titles won, followed by state title appearances.

While state titles were an important part of the point system, we also included where a team finished in the state Top 25 and national Top 25. This rewards teams for playing a tough overall schedule.
Our methodology includes:

• Top 25 finishes in the MaxPreps state computer rankings (25 points awarded to the No. 1 team, 24 for No. 2 and so on).

• Top 25 finishes in the MaxPreps national computer rankings (50 points for No. 1, 49 for No. 2 and so on).

• State championships (20 points).

• State championship game appearances (10 points).

Here's a state-by-state look at the top team with links to the full Top 20 story and list.
