Carmel (Ind.) sits atop the MaxPreps Cup national standings after the fall season with 1,408 points, not only leading the country but also
posting the largest margin over in-state competition, underscoring its
dominance across multiple sports this season.
The Greyhounds lead
Roncalli (Indianapolis) by 885 points in the MaxPreps Cup Indiana standings. In Connecticut,
Greenwich has the second-highest lead of 784 points over No. 2
New Canaan.
The states with the closest competition include Maine, Maryland and Mississippi.
The MaxPreps Cup recognizes the best high school sports programs in the country. The competition uses an algorithm that awards points for state championships, runner-up finishes and national rankings based on size of state, popularity of the sport, size of school and number of teams in each playoff division.
Following are the top five schools in each state along with their MaxPreps Cup rating. The winner of the MaxPreps Cup will be announced in July.
