The midwest and the southwest each had new No. 1 teams in this week's MaxPreps regional football computer rankings.
Center Grove took over the top spot in the midwest from Wayne, which had held the No. 1 position for just one week.
Meanwhile DeSoto moved up two spots to take over the No. 1 spot from Allen in the southwest. Allen dropped to No. 3.
The rest of the No.1 teams in the three other regions remained the same with IMG Academy No. 1 in the south, Mater Dei No. 1 in the west and St. Joseph Regional No. 1 in the southwest.
The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. For the purposes of these rankings, the country is broken down into five regions:
West: California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Hawaii, Alaska and Montana.
Southwest: Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma,and Texas.
Midwest: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
South: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Northeast: Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Delaware and Vermont.
