Lance McCullers leads 2012 MaxPreps Medium Schools Baseball All-Americans

Lance McCullers has won just about every national award imaginable this year and with his selection as the MaxPreps Medium Schools All-American Team Player of the Year, he adds another honor to his impressive list.

Already the Gatorade National Player of the Year and the USA Today National Player of the Year, McCullers earns the MaxPreps medium schools honor after leading Jesuit to a 28-2 record and a No. 6 ranking in the final MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Baseball Rankings.

Along the way, McCullers went 13-0 on the mound with a miniscule 0.18 ERA and 140 strikeouts. The Florida Dairy Farmers State Player of the Year was also the 41st overall player chosen in the MLB Draft, going to the Houston Astros.

Joining McCullers on the medium schools honor list is Columbus coach Bobby Howard. The veteran coach led the Blue Devils to the Georgia AAA state championship for the third straight year and the 12th time in his tenure. The Blue Devils also finished No. 2 in the final Xcellent 25 national rankings. Howard has an impressive career record of 787-187 at Columbus.
