The Pioneer High School Varsity Softball team will be starring under the lights at 6 P.M. on Friday, May 20th at the Sacramento Softball Complex in the first round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III Playoffs against the winner of an outbracket game between #2 seed Vanden and #3 Colfax. The #1 seeded Lady Patriots are led in the circle by ace pitcher Brittanie Akey and on offense by shortstop Lucy Fernandez, first baseman Karisa Cobey, and Akey.

The Pioneer High School Varsity Baseball team lost its out bracket playoff game to Colfax High School by a score of 5-3. The game was played in rainy conditions and featured a near comeback by the Patriots. Pioneer finishes the season with an 18-8 overall record.

Pioneer High School's Varsity Baseball team (17-7) is set to take on the Colfax Falcons (14-11) in their opening game of the 2011 Sac-Joaquin Section Division III Playoffs beginning with a home game on Monday, May 16th at 4PM. The Patriots' offense is led by junior Michael Chavarria and sophomore Robert Daugherty with 0.419 batting averages. Ace pitcher Nathan Gonzalez has accumulated a 1.47 ERA. Go Patriots!
