In Tuesday's league test, the Concord Spiders (Concord, NC) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Carson Cougars (China Grove, NC), by a score of 73-61.

Next, the Spiders encounter the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans (Concord, NC) in a 3A South Piedmont test, on Thursday, January 9. Concord will attempt to improve on its 10-4 season record. The Trojans come into the test with a 8-5 record after their 84-83 league loss to Robinson (Concord, NC).

The Cougars (9-5) will now prepare for their test against South Rowan (China Grove, NC). The Raiders come into the 3A South Piedmont test with a 1-12 record. In their last test, South Rowan beat Thomasville (Thomasville, NC), 46-45, in a non-league test.
