Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC), 65-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Swain County upgrades its record to 6-8 on the season. The Maroon Devils travel to Franklin (Franklin, NC) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 12. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 13-2. Franklin won 62-54 in their recent league bout against West Henderson (Hendersonville, NC)

Next up, the Highlanders play the Summit Charter Bears (Cashiers, NC) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 12. Highlands will attempt to upgrade on its 2-9 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 0-4 record after their 55-34 non-league loss to Victory Christian (Sylva, NC).
