In Friday's league contest, the visiting La Joya Community Fighting Lobos basketball team scored a good 55-36 triumph over the Copper Canyon Aztecs.

The Fighting Lobos (19-5) will now prepare for their contest against Sierra Linda (Phoenix, AZ). The Bulldogs go into the 5A Central Valley contest with a 3-16 record. In their last contest, Sierra Linda was topped by Washington (Phoenix, AZ), 71-46, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Aztecs confront the Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ) in a 5A Central Valley contest, on Tuesday, February 11. Copper Canyon will attempt to better on its 10-9 season record. The Patriots go into the contest with a 12-7 record after their 66-38 league win over Glendale (Glendale, AZ).
