Arizona High School Basketball - La Joya Community thwarts Independence

February 4, 2025: Avondale, AZ 85323

The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos (Avondale, AZ) and the visiting Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ), observed La Joya Community's basketball team knock off Independence by a score of 64-47.

The Fighting Lobos (17-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Metro Tech (Phoenix, AZ). The Knights come into the non-league challenge with a 1-23 record. In their last challenge, Metro Tech was knocked off by Alhambra (Phoenix, AZ), 38-34, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Patriots encounter the Desert Edge Scorpions (Goodyear, AZ) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 6. Independence will attempt to improve on its 11-6 season record. The Scorpions come into the challenge with a 7-15 record after their 61-59 league win over Paradise Valley (Phoenix, AZ).
