In Thursday's league match, the visiting Carlisle Chiefs basketball team scored a tight 61-56 triumph over the New Covenant Gryphons .

In their next game, the Chiefs meet the Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks (Charlottesville, VA) in a Virginia Independent match, on Friday, February 17. Carlisle will attempt to move on its 13-11 season record. The Mavericks enter the match with a 16-11 record after their 68-19 non-league win over New Covenant (Lynchburg, VA).

With the defeat, New Covenant moves to 17-9 on the year.
