Connecticut High School Basketball - Shepaug Valley nips Gilbert
January 17, 2023: Washington, CT 06793 Shepaug Valley Spartans (Washington, CT) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Gilbert Yellowjackets (Winsted, CT), 60-56 in a league bout.
With the victory, Shepaug Valley upgrades its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Housatonic-Wamogo (Falls Village, CT) to play the Mountaineers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 20. The Mountaineers come into the bout with a record of 0-9. Housatonic-Wamogo lost 62-25 in their recent non-league bout against Thomaston (Thomaston, CT)
Next up, the Yellowjackets play the Terryville Kangaroos (Terryville, CT) in a Berkshire bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Gilbert will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record.
