The Marcos de Niza Padres basketball squad (Tempe, AZ), was nudged 39-35 in Wednesday's league battle with the visiting Saguaro Sabercats (Scottsdale, AZ)

With the victory, Saguaro advances its record to 4-17 on the year. The Sabercats host St. Mary's (Phoenix, AZ) to meet the Knights in a 4A Desert Sky battle on Friday, January 23. The Knights enter the battle with a record of 3-9. St. Mary's lost 74-45 in their recent league battle against Cactus Shadows (Cave Creek, AZ)

The Padres now own a 8-11 record. They play next when they travel to Arcadia for a 4A Desert Sky challenge on Friday, January 23. Marcos de Niza will battle a Titans team coming off a 115-4 league loss to Mesquite (Gilbert, AZ). The Titans record now stands at 2-13.
