North Carolina High School Basketball - Porter Ridge knocked off by Monroe

The Monroe Redhawks basketball team scored 63 points and held the host Porter Ridge Pirates to 45 in the Redhawks non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Redhawks now sport a 13-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Central Academy for a 2A/3A Conference 44 contest on Friday, January 28. Monroe will meet a Cougars team coming off a 52-39 league loss to West Stanly (Oakboro, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 1-14.

The Pirates (6-13) will now prepare for their contest against Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC). The Cavaliers enter the 4A Conference 58 contest with a 12-6 record. In their last contest, Cuthbertson was outscored by Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC), 70-64, in a league contest.
