North Carolina High School Basketball - Sun Valley nips Porter Ridge

Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC), 48-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Sun Valley upgrades its record to 11-7 on the season. The Spartans host Weddington (Matthews, NC) to play the Warriors in a 4A Conference 58 bout on Tuesday, January 25. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 4-12. Weddington won 38-30 in their recent league bout against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC)

Next up, the Pirates play the Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC) in a 4A Conference 58 bout, on Tuesday, January 25. Porter Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 4-12 record after their 63-47 league loss to Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC).
