North Carolina High School Basketball - Sun Valley nudges Weddington

January 4, 2022: Matthews, NC 28104

In Tuesday's league outing, the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) basketball squad edged the host Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC), by a margin of 45-39.

The Spartans (8-6) will now prepare for their outing against Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC). The Tigers enter the non-league match with a 5-8 record. In their last match, Mount Pleasant was nipped by North Stanly (New London, NC), 58-39, in a league match.

With the defeat, Weddington moves to 3-9 on the year. The Warriors travel to Myers Park (Charlotte, NC) to meet the Mustangs in a non-league match on Wednesday, January 5. The Mustangs enter the match with a record of 7-5. Myers Park lost 45-40 in their recent non-league match against Cleveland (Cleveland, TN)
