Arkansas High School Basketball - Mountain View crushes Newport
January 26, 2024: Mountain View, AR 72560 Mountain View Yellowjackets (Mountain View, AR) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), 84-37 in a league bout.
With the win, Mountain View upgrades its record to 19-6 on the season. The Yellowjackets host Cave City (Cave City, AR) to play the Cavemen in a 3A Region 2 bout on Saturday, January 27. The Cavemen go into the bout with a record of 10-12. Cave City won 61-50 in their recent league bout against Hoxie (Hoxie, AR)
Next up, the Greyhounds play the Hoxie Mustangs (Hoxie, AR) in a 3A Region 2 bout, on Monday, January 29. Newport will attempt to upgrade on its 4-17 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 5-12 record after their 61-50 league loss to Cave City (Cave City, AR).
