In Friday's non-league outing, the Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Erwin Warriors (Asheville, NC), by a count of 75-48.

The Mustangs (7-13) will now prepare for their outing against Franklin (Franklin, NC). The Panthers go into the 3A Conference 54 outing with a 18-3 record. In their last outing, Franklin was crushed by North Henderson (Hendersonville, NC), 69-62, in a league outing.
