New Mexico High School Basketball - McCurdy tops Penasco
January 27, 2024: Penasco, NM 87553 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the McCurdy Bobcats (Espanola, NM) and the host Penasco Panthers (Penasco, NM), saw McCurdy's basketball squad knock off Penasco by a count of 61-45.
With the victory, McCurdy upgrades its record to 10-8 on the campaign. The Bobcats host Dulce (Dulce, NM) to play the Hawks in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 6-11. Dulce lost 39-35 in their recent non-league challenge against Escalante (Tierra Amarilla, NM)
Next up, the Panthers play the Escalante Lobos (Tierra Amarilla, NM) in a 2A District 5 challenge, on Thursday, February 1. Penasco will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Lobos come into the challenge with a 10-7 record after their 50-47 league loss to Mesa Vista (Ojo Caliente, NM).
