The Hammond Tornadoes (Hammond, LA) basketball knocked off the host Covington Lions (Covington, LA), 75-65 in Friday's non-league test.

The Tornadoes (13-4) will now prepare for their test against Fontainebleau (Mandeville, LA). The Bulldogs go into the 5A District 6 test with a 2-5 record.

The Lions now own a 3-5 record. They play next when they travel to John Ehret for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 10. Covington will encounter a Patriots squad coming off a 76-55 non-league win over Livingston Collegiate Academy (New Orleans, LA). The Patriots record now stands at 12-3.
