Game Summary

The Squires hosted the Hanover Knighthawks on their senior night in the Delone Catholic stadium. The Squires controlled the field dominating possession with 8 shots on goal. The Hawks had 22 penalties called against them keeping them from making much progress but they still managed to get off 9 shots on goal. There were two goals called back in the game. The game winning goal with 2 minutes left in regulation was scored from an indirect kick by Aidan Groves #53 to Aaron Ocampo #19. The ball bounced out of the hands of the Hawks goalie and Ocampo took advantage. He megged the goalie then crossed behind him to score! The goalie didn’t protest the goal. He knew he dropped the ball. The far ref from about 40 yards out disallowed the goal saying the goalie had possession. The video shows otherwise. The Squires coaching staff vigorously protested the reversal but only received a yellow card for their efforts. The game went on to double OT with a 0-0 score. Player of the Game: JP Groves #4.
