Game Summary
The Squires and Eagles had a great match up and was one to watch! This was a hard fought effort and each team had 9 shots on goal and GK with 8 saves. The Squires were up 1-0 in the first half after a set up play by Aidan Groves #53 and Michael Carter #10 moving the ball from the defensive 1/3 up and across the field to Nolan Kruse #9 (with the assist) who crossed the ball over to Angello Salazar #2 who headed it in the net. In the second half an entanglement of two players led to Groves #53 receiving a red card as he kicked his way up and Eagles Alex Alvarado #10 retaliating with a hit after fouling Groves in the play. At first, referees gave both a yellow card but then after the Bermudian Coach protested their decision they conferred stopping the game for several minutes and changed Groves #53 card from yellow to red. The Squires had to play down a player for the remainder of the match. With a penalty in the box, the Eagles scored on a PK and no score in double OT.
