Maryland High School Basketball - Calvert holds off Chopticon

December 16, 2024: Morganza, MD 20660

The Calvert Cavaliers basketball team scored 44 points and limited the host Chopticon Braves to 40 in the Cavaliers non-league triumph on Monday.

The Cavaliers now have a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to Northern for a Southern Maryland game on Wednesday, December 18. Calvert will confront a Patriots team coming off a 36-33 non-league loss to Winters Mill (Westminster, MD). The Patriots record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Chopticon falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Braves travel to King's Christian Academy (Callaway, MD) to confront the Eagles in a non-league game on Friday, December 20. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 1-2. King's Christian Academy won 46-8 in their recent non-league game against Friendship Tech Prep Academy (Washington, DC)
