West Virginia High School Basketball - Winfield sneaks past Ripley

February 7, 2025: Ripley, WV 25271

The Winfield Generals (Winfield, WV) basketball edged the host Ripley Vikings (Ripley, WV), 47-40 in Friday's league bout.

The Generals now possess a 9-5 record. They play next when they travel to Point Pleasant for a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 11. Winfield will play a Big Blacks team coming off a 51-17 league loss to Marietta (Marietta, OH). The Big Blacks record now stands at 6-11.

With the loss, Ripley falls to 11-4 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Grafton (Grafton, WV) to play the Bearcats in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 8. The Bearcats go into the bout with a record of 0-12. Grafton lost 54-32 in their recent league bout against Buckhannon-Upshur (Buckhannon, WV)
