Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) and the visiting Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC), observed Sun Valley's volleyball team top Charlotte Catholic by a count of 3-0.

The Spartans (17-11) will now prepare for their contest against Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Panthers enter the Southern Carolina 6A/7A contest with a 8-9 record. In their last contest, Piedmont was knocked off by West Stanly (Oakboro, NC), 3-0, in a non-league contest.
