Mount Ayr Raiders (Mount Ayr, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting East Union Eagles (Afton, IA), 59-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Mount Ayr upgrades its record to 16-6 on the season. The Raiders host Interstate 35 (Truro, IA) to play the Roadrunners in a non-league bout on Monday, February 5. The Roadrunners go into the bout with a record of 2-14. Interstate 35 lost 71-33 in their recent league bout against Madrid (Madrid, IA)

Next up, the Eagles play the Wayne Falcons (Corydon, IA) in a Pride of Iowa bout, on Monday, February 5. East Union will attempt to upgrade on its 3-18 season record. The Falcons go into the bout with a 11-10 record after their 77-56 league loss to Lenox (Lenox, IA).
