Mount Ayr Raiders (Mount Ayr, IA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Central Decatur Cardinals (Leon, IA), 66-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mount Ayr upgrades its record to 15-6 on the campaign. The Raiders host East Union (Afton, IA) to play the Eagles in a Pride of Iowa bout on Friday, February 2. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 3-17. East Union won 66-59 in their recent non-league bout against Essex (Essex, IA)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Nodaway Valley Wolverines (Greenfield, IA) in a bout, on Friday, February 2. Central Decatur will attempt to upgrade on its 10-9 season record. The Wolverines come into the bout with a 1-16 record after their 67-42 league loss to Mount Ayr (Mount Ayr, IA).
