Texas High School Basketball - Lovejoy nips Sherman

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Lovejoy Leopards (Lucas, TX) and the visiting Sherman Bearcats (Sherman, TX), saw Lovejoy's basketball squad hold off Sherman by a tally of 30-26.

With the victory, Lovejoy improves its record to 16-13 on the campaign. The Leopards host McKinney North (McKinney, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 5A Region II District 10 challenge on Tuesday, February 1. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 26-1. McKinney North won 73-47 in their recent league challenge against Denison (Denison, TX)

Next up, the Bearcats play the The Colony Cougars (The Colony, TX) in a 5A Region II District 10 challenge, on Tuesday, February 1. Sherman will attempt to improve on its 7-21 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 8-13 record after their 45-34 league loss to Princeton (Princeton, TX).
