St. John Bosco, IMG Academy lead the way with nine finishes in the national rankings since 2014.
IMG Academy, which won its lone national title in 2020, is on a run of nine consecutive MaxPreps Top 25 finishes. Bosco's only miss was in 2020 when there was no football during the fall due to the pandemic. The Braves were crowned national champs in 2019 and 2022.
St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) checks in with the third most MaxPreps Top 25 finishes at eight. The Raiders are riding a five-year streak of appearances in the final rankings and have won five consecutive state titles.
Mater Dei is the only school that has notched top-three finishes in each of the last three seasons. The Monarchs have been ranked at the conclusion of every season since 2017 with national crowns in 2017 and 2021.
North Shore has ended the season in the MaxPreps Top 25 the most out of any school from Texas and is the last to finish at No. 1. The Mustangs were named MaxPreps National Champs in 2018 after going 16-0 and bringing home the Class 6A Division 1 state title.
Florida has had the most schools finished ranked at 16 followed by Georgia (14), Texas (11), California (9), Ohio (8) and Alabama (5). Arizona and Indiana both had four followed by Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Utah with three schools. District of Columbia, Hawaii, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Washington all had two while Illinois, Michigan, Nevada and Virginia have had one school finish ranked over the last decade.
Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming are the states who have not had a team finish ranked in the MaxPreps Top 25 since 2014.
* California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and Washington did not play football during the fall of 2020 because of COVID and were not included in the final MaxPreps Top 25 rankings that season.
