By Zack Poff May 1, 2023, 10:00am

Florida leads with 36 selections while Bishop Gorman only school with three players chosen.

For the fourth time in six years, Florida finished with the most former high school players selected in the 2023 NFL Draft with 36. Texas had the second-most selections with 30 followed by Georgia (23) and California (21).

The Sunshine State also had the most first-round selections with six: Anthony Richardson (Colts), Devon Witherspoon (Seahawks), Jalen Carter (Eagles), Calijah Kancey (Buccaneers), Zay Flowers (Ravens) and Nolan Smith (Eagles).

Some notable selections from the Lone Star State included Tyree Wilson (Raiders), Christian Gonzalez (Patriots), Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Seahawks), Quentin Johnston (Chargers), Marvin Mims (Broncos), Drew Sanders (Broncos) and Zach Evans (Rams).

Georgia had the third-most selections headlined by Will Anderson (Texans), Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions), Broderick Jones (Steelers), Myles Murphy (Bengals), Brian Branch (Lions), Josh Downs (Colts) and Owen Pappoe (Cardinals).

California was the only other state to have at least 20 selections headlined by Bryce Young (Panthers) and C.J. Stroud (Texans). It was the first time any state had the first two selections in the NFL Draft since 2012 when Texas accomplished that feat when Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III went back-to-back.

In total, 38 states along with the District of Columbia had at least one selection.

Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) was the only school to have three picks: Cedric Tillman (Browns), Dorian Thompson-Robinson (Browns) and Kyu Blu Kelly (Ravens).
