The four big states — California, Florida, Georgia and Texas — make up for nearly half of the first round selections in the NFL Draft over the last decade. The Sunshine State leads the way with 46 first round picks followed by Texas (37), Georgia (33) and California (29).
In total, 42 different states have had at least one first round pick. Alaska, District of Columbia, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Vermont and West Virginia have not had a first round selection.
Alabama (16), Louisiana (15), North Carolina (12), Pennsylvania (12), Ohio (11) and New Jersey (10) were the only other states that have had at least 10 first round selections.
