Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) and the visiting Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots (Mission, TX), saw Nixon's basketball squad wallop Mission Veterans Memorial by a count of 87-36.

With the victory, Nixon upgrades its record to 20-11 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Juarez-Lincoln (La Joya, TX) to play the Huskies in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Huskies come into the challenge with a record of 0-24.

Next up, the Patriots play the Cigarroa Toros (Laredo, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge, on Friday, February 10. Mission Veterans Memorial will attempt to upgrade on its 6-15 season record.
