The Union Pines Vikings topped the visiting Lee County Yellow Jackets basketball team by a final score of 66-56 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Vikings face the Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 24 game, on Friday, January 27. Union Pines will attempt to move on its 6-10 season record.

With the defeat, Lee County moves to 10-4 on the year. The Yellow jackets host Hoke County (Raeford, NC) to face the Bucks in a 3A/4A Conference 24 game on Tuesday, January 24. The Bucks enter the game with a record of 2-17. Hoke County lost 64-27 in their recent league game against Scotland (Laurinburg, NC)
