In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting High Plains Storm basketball team scored a close 35-32 win over the Shelby-Rising City Huskies.

The Storm (5-4) will now prepare for their contest against Hampton (Hampton, NE). The Hawks come into the D2 District 4 battle with a 1-7 record. In their last battle, Hampton was nudged by Meridian (Daykin, NE), 43-32, in a non-league battle.

The Huskies now own a 2-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Riverside for a non-league battle on Friday, January 10.
