Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Gaston Day Spartans (Gastonia, NC) and the host Gaston Christian Eagles (Gastonia, NC), saw Gaston Day's basketball squad knock off Gaston Christian by a tally of 71-61.

With the victory, Gaston Day improves its record to 18-11 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Concord Academy (Concord, NC) to play the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 9. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 18-14. Concord Academy won 72-55 in their recent non-league challenge against SouthLake Christian Academy (Huntersville, NC)
