Arkansas High School Basketball - Walnut Ridge tops Newport
December 12, 2023: Walnut Ridge, AR 72476 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Walnut Ridge Bobcats (Walnut Ridge, AR) and the visiting Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), saw Walnut Ridge's basketball squad knock off Newport by a tally of 75-58.
With the victory, Walnut Ridge improves its record to 6-2 on the campaign. The Bobcats host Hoxie (Hoxie, AR) to play the Mustangs in a 3A Region 2 challenge on Friday, December 15. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 3-3. Hoxie won 56-46 in their recent league challenge against Salem (Salem, AR)
Next up, the Greyhounds play the Cave City Cavemen (Cave City, AR) in a 3A Region 2 challenge, on Friday, December 15. Newport will attempt to improve on its 0-8 season record. The Cavemen come into the challenge with a 5-7 record after their 74-46 league loss to Tuckerman (Tuckerman, AR).
