Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in prep basketball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2024-25 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence, in addition to local and state accolades.

Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which is scheduled to be released in April. Read on for a look at the postseason honors schedule and POYs in all 50 states.

Alaska — Sophie Lentfer, Grace Christian (Anchorage)

The Grizzlies went 22-5 and won a third straight Class 3A state championship as the UC Davis commit averaged 21.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.3 assists per game. STORY

Arizona — Destiny Lunan, Millennium (Goodyear)
5-10 | Guard | Class of 2025
Capped career with an Open Division title as the Tigers went 25-6. The North Carolina State commit averaged 20.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 3.1 assists per game. STORY

Arkansas — Erianna Gooden, Northside (Fort Smith)
6-0 | Guard | Class of 2025
Helped the Grizzlies to a 28-5 record and Class 6A title, averaging 15.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.7 steals per game. Headed to Colorado, Gooden tallied 1,902 points, 793 rebounds, 420 assists and 314 steals in her high school career. STORY

California — Aliyahna Morris, Etiwanda

The Eagles won an unprecedented third Open Division title as she averaged 24.0, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. STORY

Colorado — Sienna Betts, Grandview (Aurora)
6-4 | Post | Class of 2025
A three-time Colorado Player of the Year, the UCLA commit averaged 23.2 points, 16.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 3.5 blocked shots and 2.2 assists per game. She led the Wolves to a 25-3 record and third Class 6A state championship in four years. STORY

Connecticut — Abby Casper, Northwest Catholic (West Hartford)

Averaged 21 points and 11 rebounds per game as the Lions went 25-2 and won their third straight state championship. STORY

Delaware — Jezelle Banks, Ursuline Academy (Wilmington)
5-8 | Guard | Class of 2027
The Raiders reached the state semifinals as she averaged 21.7 points, 4.8 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game. STORY

District of Columbia — Jordyn Jackson, Sidwell Friends
6-1 | Wing | Class of 2026
Averaged 19.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game as the Quakers went 27-3 and won the DCSAA Class AA title. STORY

Florida — Jaida Civil, Palm Bay (Melbourne)
6-0 | Point guard | Class of 2025
The Pirates went 25-7 and won the Class 4A title, the school's first, as Civil averaged team-highs of 18.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 3.3 steals per game. STORY

Georgia — Hailee Swain, Holy Innocents Episcopal (Atlanta)
5-11 | Forward | Class of 2025
A Stanford commit, she averaged 22.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 2.4 assists per game. In a 57-39 win over nationally-ranked Hebron Christian (Dacula) in the title game, she piled up 30 points en route to MVP honors. STORY

Hawaii — Nihoa Dunn, Kamehameha Kapalama (Honolulu)

Averaged 16.0 points per game and helped the 28-3 Warriors win their first Division I title since 2013. STORY



Idaho — Brookeslee Colvin, Coeur d'Alene
5-10 | Point Guard | Class of 2027
Led the Vikings to a a 17-8 mark and Class 6A semifinal appearance while averaging 22.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 4.1 steals per game. STORY

Illinois — Aubrey Galvan, Loyola Academy (Wilmette)
5-7 | Point guard | Class of 2025
Broke single-season school records for points (734) and 3-pointers (111) and averaged 19.8 points, 3.3 steals, 3.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game. Committed to Vanderbilt, Galvan finished as one of the top 20 scorers in state history with 2,132 points as the Ramblers went 34-4. STORY

Indiana — Maya Makalusky, Hamilton Southeastern (Fishers)
6-4 | Forward | Class of 2025
The Indiana commit and Miss Basketball winner averaged 22.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game as the Royals went 27-1 with a Class 4A semifinal appearance. STORY

Iowa — Amani Jenkins, Johnston
6-0 | Guard | Class of 2026
Averaged 18.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.4 assists per game, helping the Dragons end the campaign with a 52-game win streak capped with a second consecutive Class 5A title. STORY

Kansas — Jaliya Davis, Blue Valley North (Overland Park)
6-2 | Forward | Class of 2025
Helped the Mustangs to a second straight Class 6A title and 21-4 record while averaging 25.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 2.1 assists per game. STORY

Kentucky — ZaKiyah Johnson, Sacred Heart (Louisville)
6-0 | Guard | Class of 2027
A four-time pick for the state's highest honor, she led the Valkyries to a 36-3 record and the school's fifth consecutive state championship. The LSU commit averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.4 steals per game.STORY

The Kittens went 25-5 record and won the Division IV Select state title as Forman averaged 22.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game. STORY

She averaged 22.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 2.8 assists per game as the Vikings went 21-1 and won the Class B state title. STORY

Maryland — Ivanna Wilson-Manyacka, Bullis (Potomac)

The No. 2 prospect in the sophomore class averaged 18.5 points, 11.2 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game as the Bulldogs went 25-8 with a state semifinal appearance. STORY

Averaged 17.1 points, 13.7 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 3.8 assists on the season as the Spartans went 25-3 and won a third Division 3 state championship in four years. STORY

Has piled up 4,454 career points and is Minnesota's all-time playoff scoring leader. Greenway averaged averaged 32.8 points, 8.7 assists, 7.2 rebounds and 4.8 steals per game as the Lions went 29-0 and won the Class 2A title. STORY

Averaged 22.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.4 steals per game as the Panthers went 28-1. STORY

Montana — Paige Lofing, Huntley Project (Worden)
5-9 | Guard | Class of 2025
The Gonzaga commit helped the Red Devils to a 23-2 mark and Class B state title — the school's first. For the season, Lofing averaged 23.3 points, 4.7 steals, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. STORY

The Creighton commit averaged 17.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 2.2 assists per game, helping the Wildcats to a 28-1 record and a second straight Class A state championship. STORY

The three-time Oregon Player of the Year, Davidson helped the Cavaliers to a 27-3 record and berth in the Class 6A state finals. The USC commit averaged 29.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.6 assists per game. STORY

Averaged 19.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game as the Bearettes went 35-1 and won the Division I Class 4A title. STORY

The No. 1 player in her class and recent Oklahoma commit led the Plainsmen to a 37-5 record and the Class 5A Division II state championship. For the season, Chavez averaged 34.9 points per game, 9.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.7 steals per game. Chavez finished her career with 4,796 points, good for 14th on the national career scoring list. Averaged 17.9 points and 16.4 rebounds per game as the Seahorses went 20-5 and won the Division 1 title, the school's first in 49 years. STORY

Virginia — Nyla Brooks, Bishop Ireton (Alexandria)

Averaged 18.3 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game as the Cardinals went 25-6 and won the VISAA Division 1 title.  STORY

The MVP of the Class 4A state tournament averaged 22.4 points, 11.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 4.2 steals per game while shooting 55 percent from the field. STORY

A three-time West Virginia Player of the Year honoree, she averaged 33.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 2.0 assists per game. STORY

Averaged 26.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.8 steals and 3.0 assists per game and helped led the Warhawks to a 25-4 record and Division I state semifinal appearance. STORY

Four-time All-State selection averaged 27.7 points 4.6 steals, 4.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. A Cal Baptist commit, she helped the Bearcats to a 27-1 record and the school's seventh straight Class 3A title. STORY
