Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) and the visiting Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC), saw Sun Valley's basketball squad overcome Monroe by a tally of 43-31.

With the victory, Sun Valley improves its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Spartans host Parkwood (Monroe, NC) to confront the Wolf Pack in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 20. The Wolf Pack come into the challenge with a record of 8-2. Parkwood won 51-42 in their recent non-league challenge against Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC)

Next up, the Redhawks confront the East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, December 19. Monroe will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 2-7 record after their 58-28 league loss to Butler (Matthews, NC).
