Game Summary
LA SALLE WALKS ON WILD SIDE
AGAINST ST. JOHN’S
Brooklyn, NY – The La Salle Academy pitchers issued eleven walks to St. John’s Prep turning a close game into a blowout as they fell 4-11, in the opening game of the CHSAA 2022 Varsity “A” Division Championship Tournament at American Legion Fields. The loss drops La Salle into the loser bracket of the tournament where they will face the loser of the St. Edmund Prep-Bishop Loughlin game.
La Salle fell into an early 0-3 hole on 3 of those walks, as starting pitcher, Eamon Moogan, lost focus on the mound. The Cardinals finally rallied in the top of the 5th, capped by a 2-RBI single from Alec Dayle to temporarily tie the game at 3 all. In the bottom half of the 6th, this time, with Manuel Ramirez, on the mound, the Storm, did just that, batting around and scoring 8 to put the game out of reach.
On Deck: The double elimination tournament continues, date/time/opponent TBA.
