New York High School Baseball - LaSalle Academy defeats Nazareth
May 24, 2022: New York, NY 10003 Spectators at Tuesday's league battle between the LaSalle Academy Cardinals (New York, NY) and the visiting Nazareth Kingsmen (Brooklyn, NY), saw LaSalle Academy's baseball squad knock off Nazareth by a count of 13-6.
Coming up next, the Cardinals play the Cathedral Prep Crusaders (Elmhurst, NY) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, May 28. LaSalle Academy will attempt to move on its 10-8 season record. The Crusaders enter the battle with a 2-2 record after their 10-7 league loss to LaSalle Academy (New York, NY).
The Kingsmen now possess a 1-3 record.

LA SALLE RALLIES AGAINST NAZARETH
New York, NY – For the second time in as many days, the baseball team from La Salle Academy fell behind early and rallied late for the win, this time it was a 13-6 victory over Nazareth on field 42 o Randall’s Island. The rally served as a final push for the playoffs as the Cardinals concluded their regular season at 10-8 overall and 9-5 in the CHSAA Varsity baseball ‘A’ Division.
Trailing 1-5, going into the bottom of the third inning, La Salle was finally able to make solid contact against Nazareth starter, Salecedo, capped by a two-run opposite field triple by Damien Maldonado, that cut the lead to one at 4-5. After Naz, added another run in their half of the fourth, La Salle exploded for nine runs over the next two innings to put the game away.
The Cardinals 12-hit attack was led by Xavier Guzman and Damien Maldonado, who had two hits and 3 RBIs apiece. Eamon Moogan picked up the win in relief of Maldonado as the playoffs await.
