Match Summary
The Lady Trojans escaped from the Islanders of Poquoson with a win in a hard-fought match in which Poquoson won the first set. NK scored the first point and held as much as a 4-point lead before the Islanders tied the game at 12-12. Poquoson held the lead until NK tied the set at 23-23, but two good hits by the Islanders gave Poquoson the set. In set two, NK again took the early lead, with the Islanders tying the score briefly at 14-14 and 15-15. After this, NK surged to as much as a 6-point lead, closing out the set 25-20. In the seesaw contest, set three saw Poquoson take the early lead, with NK eventually tying the score at 12-12. Nk dominated the rest of the set, earning 13 points to Poquoson's 5 to win 25-17. In set four, NK again won the first rally and held the lead until Poquson went ahead at 24-24. Kendall White tied the game for NK with a K, while an Islander hitting error gave NK the lead. Carly Sachs scored the winning K for the set and match at 27-25.
