The Trojans now possess a 5-1 record. They play next when they travel to Oscar Smith for a non-league bout on Saturday, September 14. New Kent will clash with a Tigers team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Indian River (Chesapeake, VA). The Tigers record now stands at 1-3.

The New Kent Lady Trojans defeated the Falcons of York HS in a four-set match. New Kent won the first two sets 25-19 and 25-15 before York rallied to take the third set 21-25. The fourth set was hard fought for the first 14 points with several lead changes until a Lady Trojan passing error moved York into a tie at 7-7. After that, two Falcon errors gave NK the lead at 9-7, and the Lady Trojans never looked back, pulling ahead by 5 points, then 7, then 8, and finishing the match with a 25-15 win in set four.
